Tất cả vì lợi ích của các chủ rừng trồng quy mô nhỏ theo nguyên tắc quản lý rừng bền vững - All for the benefit of small-scale forest owners according to the principles of sustainable forest management

The Representative Office of the State of Hessen in Vietnam, in cooperation with HUE-FOSDA, presented three PAUL water filtration systems to primary and lower secondary schools in Huế and Quảng Trị.

On December 2–3, 2025, the Representative Office of the State of Hessen in Vietnam, in cooperation with the Hue Sustainable Forest Owners Association (HUE-FOSDA), presented three PAUL water filtration units using German nano technology to several primary and lower secondary schools in remote and ethnic minority areas in Huế City and Quảng Trị Province.

The water filtration system handover ceremony was attended by:

  • Representative of the Hessen Office in Vietnam: Dr. Bùi Công Thọ – Head of Office, and colleagues

  • Representatives of the authorities of A Lưới 1 and A Lưới 4 Communes (Huế City)

  • Representatives of the authorities of Kim Ngân Commune (Quảng Trị Province)

  • Teachers and students of Hong Thủy Primary & Lower Secondary School (A Lưới 1), A Roàng Primary & Lower Secondary School (A Lưới 4), and Kim Thủy No. 2 Primary & Lower Secondary School (Quảng Trị Province)

  • Representative of HUE-FOSDA: Mr. Võ Văn Dự – Chairman, and colleagues

Dr. Bùi Công Thọ and Mr. Võ Văn Dự (Chairman of HUE-FOSDA), together with delegates, teachers, and students, took commemorative photos beside the Nano technology water filtration unit.

Speaking at the handover of the water filtration units to the schools, Dr. Bùi Công Thọ emphasized the practical significance of the PAUL device in improving drinking water quality in schools, contributing to the protection of students’ and communities’ health in the context of many localities still facing challenges in accessing clean water.

Dr. Bùi Công Thọ delivered remarks and introduced the PAUL water filtration system.

The PAUL (Portable Aqua Unit for Lifesaving) instant drinking water filtration system offers several outstanding advantages:

  • No chemicals required

  • No electricity needed

  • No need for specialized operators

  • No filter replacement required during its 10-year operational lifespan

  • Utilizes multi-layer nano membrane technology that effectively removes bacteria, impurities, and contaminants, ensuring that the output water meets direct drinking standards

  • No wastewater generated, maximizing the use of available water sources

Each unit can filter approximately 1,300 liters of water per day. With an average consumption rate of 2 liters per person per day, one device can provide safe drinking water for both students and teachers at the school (each school has an average of about 420 individuals). In addition to serving the school’s students and staff, the device can also supply clean drinking water to nearby schools and local households in surrounding villages.

Beyond the water filtration units, the Hessen Office also provided 2,000,000 VND to each school to support improvements to the area around the filtration unit, helping create a more comfortable and airy space for students and teachers to rest after study and teaching sessions.

HUE-FOSDA is honored to collaborate with the Hessen Office and local authorities in implementing this meaningful initiative. This is one of the efforts contributing to improved access to clean water, better health, enhanced school sanitation, and the promotion of a spirit of community support.

In the coming time, HUE-FOSDA will continue to expand cooperation programs to bring more sustainable solutions to education, the environment, and community well-being.
